A Beautiful Celebration of Arts, Equality, and Truth in History
“His Truth is Marching On,” the musical documentary film produced through Culture 4 A Cause’s John Brown Project, premiered Oct 22, 2022, at the Five Points Arts center.
More than a hundred people attended the screening celebration, delivering a raucous and prolonged standing ovation.

In addition to the film and music video, we featured some wonderful speakers.
Mark McEachern of the Torrington Historical Society spoke about the John Brown association of Torrington, its merger with the historical society, and the new bog walk trail underway.
He also introduced the leading John Brown historian, Dr. Louis A. DeCaro, Jr., who traveled to Torrington to speak about Brown’s passion for equality.
DeCaro pointed out that Brown's passion was taught to him and his siblings by his parents, Ruth and Owen.
Lucinda Rowe and Mick Connolly of Flying Key Entertainment and Red Room Sound Studio talked about the recording process, the creative journey, and the joy of working with great musicians.
And then they introduced Dr. Gabriel Lofvall, director of Torrington’s internationally-acclaimed Chorus Angelicus, and Gaudeamus, who spoke on music’s innate ability to bring different people together.
Indeed, music can reach deep into people's hearts in a way that other media simply cannot.
Between the speakers, we watched His Truth is Marching On, the musical documentary exploring American music from 1619 to hip-hop, and the accompanying music video of the song we produced, "John Brown's Body, 2022 Remix."
The film earned an extended, raucous standing ovation, and it felt great.
If you didn't attend, you missed something very special.
Lucky for you, we'll do a couple more screenings in Torrington before taking it on the road this spring.
If you attended the event and forgot to contribute, please consider doing so now.
Think about the value of the evening—the atmosphere, the art, the edification, and the culinary excellence—and then double that amount (PayPal).
THANK YOU—without arts supporters and community-builders like you, NWCT's arts growth and leadership simply WILL NOT HAPPEN.
