Coming to Bantam Cinema

Culture 4 A Cause will screen a community art project as part of The Bantam Cinema & Arts Center's Black History Month programming.

His Truth Is Marching On is a documentary film exploring American music through the popular civil war song “John Brown's Body."

A FEAST OF ART

In addition to the 30-minute documentary film, the show will include:

  • African drumming by Rev. Angaza Mwando (Our Culture is Beautiful).

  • A Harriet Tubman reenactment by Effie Mwando (Our Culture is Beautiful).

  • Torrington Historical Society Executive Director Mark McEachern will speak on John Brown’s passion for equality.

  • An anthemic music video pulling all of the music together

While paying tribute to the past, it promotes today's talent, with more than 50 artists recording in four NWCT recording studios.

Admission: $15
